I’m not one of those bloggers who’s going to make you read through 18 paragraphs before getting to the actual recipe. I know you’re here for my husbands famous kale smoothie recipe (well, at least it’s famous in our house!). So let’s get right to it! Be sure to check out the notes I have at the end of the recipe.
Ingredients:
?3-4 cups kale
?1/2 large banana
?1.5 cup frozen mango chunks
?1.5 cup frozen pineapple chunks
?1-2 cups plain coconut or almond milk
?1/2 cup coconut water
Directions:
Pack kale in Vitamix (or blender you have), then add remainder of ingredients. Blend until smooth and desired consistency is reached. It’s that dang easy! Serves 4.
Notes:
1) We use frozen fruit because they last longer and the consistency of the smoothie tastes better than using ice with fresh fruit. Frozen fruit doesn’t have less nutritional value than fresh because it’s flash frozen, so you’re still getting all the goodness!
2) I say 1 to 2 cups of milk of choice, because some people like their smoothies thicker and some like them thinner.
3) You can use a whole banana if desired to make the smoothie creamier.
4) Can you replace kale with spinach? Your choice, but the smoothie won’t be as hardy.
